Help & FAQ

Find answers to common questions about IdGenum.

Getting Started

IdGenum is a platform that lets you register your digital likeness with optional biometric verification and establish a verifiable record of your identity. Internet monitoring and likeness-detection features are coming soon; when available, they will help you identify potential unauthorized use and issue takedown notices under the NO FAKES Act.

Biometric verification is optional. If you enroll, IdGenum processes your facial or voice characteristics to confirm you are a real, live person and to protect your persona. Raw biometric information is processed in a protected environment and is not retained after processing — only a protected, non-plaintext representation is used for verification. See our Biometric Privacy Notice for details.

IdGenum verifies your identity using a protected, non-plaintext representation derived from your biometric characteristics, rather than storing your raw face or voice data. This is designed to support verification while reducing exposure of the underlying biometric information. See our Biometric Privacy Notice for details.

IdGenum uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect biometric information and limit access to it. Raw biometric capture information is designed to be deleted promptly after processing, and only a protected biometric-derived representation is retained for verification. Our practices are designed to align with applicable biometric privacy laws, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). See our Biometric Privacy Notice and Privacy Policy for details.

Plans & Billing

IdGenum offers Basic Protection, Pro Protection, and Creator Pro plans, plus optional Legacy add-ons. Current pricing, billing intervals, and the features included in each plan are shown on our pricing and checkout pages.

Yes, you can upgrade anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Go to Dashboard → Billing → Manage Subscription. You can cancel anytime. Your protection remains active until the end of your paid period.

Refund and cancellation terms depend on your plan. Canceling stops future renewal, and your protection stays active through the period you have already paid for. Some plans (for example, the Basic Protection annual plan) are non-refundable after payment except where required by law or for a verified billing error. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy, linked in the site footer, for the details that apply to your plan.

Security & Privacy

Deleting your account begins deletion of your eligible account, persona, and biometric information. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, security, or compliance purposes, and information already recorded on a public blockchain cannot be deleted (though associated credentials can be revoked or deactivated). We complete deletion within the time required by applicable law. This action cannot be undone.

Yes. Go to Settings → Download My Data to request a JSON export of all your information, including persona records, scan history, and account details.

A decentralized identifier (DID) is a blockchain-anchored reference associated with your persona that provides publicly verifiable proof of registration. Public blockchain records are designed to be immutable and generally cannot be deleted after publication, though a DID or associated credential can be deactivated or revoked where supported.

Scanning & Enforcement

Internet monitoring and likeness detection are coming soon and are not yet active. When the feature launches, IdGenum plans to use a multi-step verification approach before flagging a potential match, and will provide additional disclosures and any required consent before monitoring begins for your account.

Once monitoring is available, you will receive an alert with supporting evidence (such as a URL, image, and analysis results) when a likely unauthorized use is detected, and you will be able to generate a takedown notice under the NO FAKES Act.

If someone disputes your takedown, they can file a counter-notice. This starts a 10-business-day countdown. If you don’t file a court action within that time, the content is restored.
